PREMIER DIVISION

The North West Counties League Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month Award for February 2026 has gone to Brad Rose of Ramsbottom United. This is the second time that Brad has won this award after winning it in October last season.

The 21-year old ex-Salford City stopper joined his home side Ramsbottom on a season long loan from National League North side Radcliffe at the start of last season having been on loan at Trafford last season. His season was curtailed by injury though, and he agreed another season long loan for this season citing 'unfinished business' at the club. He has made 84 appearances for Rammy since his signing.

The first game in February saw title challengers Ramsbottom visit South Liverpool. It was a game of few chances for the hosts as Ramsbottom scored a goal in each half to win 2-0. Brad's oragnisation of his defence and vocal encouragement throughout were key in keeping a clean sheet.

Next up was a trip to Charnock Richard, with the home side very much on top in a first half that saw them lay siege to the home goal. Brad kept his side in the game with some key saves, most notably from James Nolan's low effort midway through the first half. He also saved one-on-one from Jordan Darr in the second half, and was unlucky not to keep a clean sheet with Charnock grabbing an equaliser in the 95th minute with the score finishing 1-1.

Cheadle Town was next in a midweek battle, with Ramsbottom running out 2-1 winners. Brad could do nothing about the Cheadle goal, but kept his side's lead intact in the 90th minute when he pulled off a crucial save from Eddie Brown.

The fourth game of the month brought a routine 3-0 win over Pilkington. It was a pretty one sided game with another clean sheet for Rose. This was followed by an abandoned game at West Didsbury & Chorlton due to a waterlogged pitch, with the score goalless at the time.

Euxton Villa were next to visit Rammy, and they ended up inflicting Rammy's first home defeat of the season with a 1-0 win. Rose was solid throughout with lots of pressure on him, and he could do little about the goal which was a defensive error that left Jordan Bentham one on one with him and he slotted past Rose.

The final game of the month saw rivals Padiham visit the Riverside, with Rose keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win. His performance that day led to him winning Man of the Match, his third of the season, after claiming yet another clean sheet.

Six games in the month for Brad, with three clean sheets, one Man of the Match and just three goals conceded.

Congratulations to Brad on his Award!

FIRST DIVISION NORTH

The Goalkeeper of the Month award for the First Division North for February 2026 has gone to Louis Hood of Darwen. This is the second Goalkeeper award for Louis this season after winning it in September 2025.

Louis spent seven years at Accrington Stanley, coming through the Under 23's to earn himself a professional contract. He left in search of regular first team football, playing Darwen before moving on to Glossop North End in 2022/23. Last season saw him at Prestwich Heys before moving back to Darwen where he is this seasons number one.

First up for Louis in February was a trip to Thornton Cleveleys. After taking an early lead, Louis made a key save to deny a reply from Thornton's Samu Viegas. He made several more key stops throughout in what was a pretty much open game with Darwen winning 7-3.

Daisy Hill were up next with Darwen three goals ahead by the hour. Louis marshalled his defence well but could do little to prevent a mini-comeback by the Cutters, a tap in followed by a penalty.

The third game saw Darwen travel to Maine Road, and they returned with all three points after a 1-0 win. A first clean sheet here for Louis since September. This boost saw him go into the next game at home to Colne in the NWCFL Groundhop, where Louis not only claimed a second successive clean sheet but also put in a Man of the Match performance to keep Colne out.

Four games played, two clean sheets, one Man of the Match and just five goals conceded represented a great month overall for Louis.

Congratulations!

FIRST DIVISION SOUTH

The winner of the February 2026 Goalkeeper of the Month Award for the First Division South is once again Will Ebbrell of Runcorn Town. Will has now won this award for the third successive month and the fourth time in total this season.

Will is in his third season in the league after playing previously for Ashville and Cammell Laird 1907, before moving to Runcorn Town at the start of this season. February saw him continue his excellent record to 14 clean sheets in 27 games played this season, with just 21 goals conceded in total.

With the first game at home to Alsager Town postponed due to the weather, Will's first game of the month was not until the 10th February when Stafford Town were the visitors to Runcorn. He could do little to prevent the goal which was a tap in, but he encouraged and pushed his team forward all night.

Next was a away game at Sandbach United, with Will keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win. He followed this up by helping his team reach the Quarter Final of the Cheshire Senior Cup following a 2-2 draw at Stockport Georgians. In the shoot out he saved two of Georgians four penalties to give Runcorn a 4-2 shoot out win.

Two more clean sheets followed in the last two games of the month, a 4-0 win at Allscott Heath in blustery conditions, and a 12-0 win over Telford Town where he had little to do overall.

Five games played for Will last month, with three clean sheets and just three goals conceded. That brought his tally to 18 clean sheets in 32 games played this season.

Congratulations Will!
