After winning the Premier Division title in 2025/26, manager James Kinsey collected the division’s Manager of the Year, the second time he has won this award. He was presented his award by League Director Martin Fallon.

Appointed at the end of last season after their relegation from the Northern Premier League, Kinsey has turned their fortunes around with Wythenshawe becoming the first club since 1998/99 to win the Premier Division immediately after being relegated to us.

Kinsey guided his team to 106 points in the Premier Division, a total bettered by only three clubs in the history of the league, and did it in style. Of 56 games this season, Wythenshawe won 38 of them and lost just 12. They scored 149 goals at an average of almost three goals a game, and conceded just 67, with 17 clean sheets.

The best run was a ten game winning streak from the start of November to the start of January, with the biggest win being 11-1 against City of Liverpool. Wythenshawe only failed to score in three games all season.

Speaking of his award, Kinsey said “I am absolutely delighted to have won the NWCFL Premier Division Manager of the Year. This is my second time winning the award, and to do so in a league with so many talented Managers is a real high moment for me.

“My backroom staff have been second to none, and this award is their’s too. They’ve worked tirelessly and carried out everything we have spoken about, to an absolute tee. Well done fellas!

"It’s been a great season for us, and we have had an unbelievably talented group at the football club. The detail we’ve given them has been put into motion, and they deserved all of the plaudits they got when they got the title won. An unbelievable group of lads.

“A huge thank you to the League Committee for giving us this award too. It is great to be noticed for the success we have had. We are excited for next season and can’t wait for what lies ahead. We wish everybody competing in the league next season the best of luck. It’s some league!.”
