September 2026 PST Sport Club of the Month

We are delighted to confirm our PST Sport Club of the Month winners for September 2026.

The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition. Last months winners were are as follows:


Premier Division - Irlam

Winning the Premier Division award for September 2026 is Irlam. 

After winning their final game of August, Irlam went on a great run in September with five wins coming from their five matches. Four of these victories came in the Premier Division whilst they also progressed through to the next round of the Macron Cup. They scored 12 goals and conceded just three, whilst they also registered three clean sheets. 

The first game in September for Irlam was at home to Longridge Town. They took an early lead through Luke Mann however by half time Longridge had gained the lead with goals from Josh Ashe and Oliver Hodgson. Irlam equalised 20 minutes into the second half through Jacob Holt, with Daniel Dolling putting them ahead ten minutes later. Dolling then hit another with five minutes remaining to give Irlam a 4-2 win. 

Next was a home game against last seasons runners-up Ramsbottom United. After a goalless first half, Jack Mitchell put them ahead ten minutes into the second half before Millen Brown added a second in the last minute to record a 2-0 win. 

The third game was a trip to Abbey Hey with Irlam taking the lead just before the half hour through Daragh Mulcahy. They added a second goal three minutes into the second half through Abubakar Muhamme, with Omogbolahan Solarin pulling one back midway through the half with 2-1 the final score. 

The final league game of the month was a trip to Glossop North End with Irlam running out 3-0 winners. Daniel Dolling opened the scoring on 11 minutes with Ross Davidson doubling the lead on the stroke of halftime. Dolling scored his second of the game five minutes from time to record a convincing win. 

The last game of the month was also against Glossop in the Macron Cup. This time it was at Irlam and was much closer with Jack Mitchell scoring the only goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining. 

Burscough also had a strong month as did Nelson and Droylsden, but none could match Irlams perfect record.

First Division North - Flixton

Club of the Month in the First Division North is Flixton, who like Irlam had a perfect month of five wins from five games.

Their first month back in the NWCFL saw mixed results as they got to terms with the league, but September saw 16 goals scored in the five games with just three conceded. They also kept two clean sheets. 

The first game in September was at home to Steeton with Nathan storton giving the visitors the lead just before the half hour. Flixton will level by a half-time though through a Cian Donohue goal with Donohue putting Flixton ahead in the first minute of the second half. Three minutes later Aaron Dwyer added a third with 3-1 the final score. 

The next game also finished 3-1 away at Ashton Athletic however it was not a foregone conclusion for much of the match. Ashley Cata put Flixton ahead on 18 minutes with Ashton levelling 17 minutes from time through Josh Brierley. It wasn't until the 88th minute that Flixton regain the lead through Aaron Dwyer with Benni Smalls-Braithwaite adding another in stoppage time. 

Next was Woolton at home with Uche Chinohso Eze giving Flixton the lead on 13 minutes. Three minutes later it was two through Lewis-Simon Byrne, with Byrne adding another just before half time. He then completed his hat-trick on 66 minutes to give his side a 4-0 victory. 

Lewis-Simon Byrne hit several hat-tricks last season as he scored 63 goals for Chadderton, and he made it successive hat tricks in the next game as Flixton won 3-1 at Garstang. Byrne's three goals all came in the second half with Luke Draysey scoring a consolation for the home side in stoppage time. 

The final game saw Uppermill visit Valley Road with an in form Flixton winning 4-0. Benni Smalls-Braithwaite put them ahead after just six minutes with Kieron Molloy adding second on 27 minutes. Smalls-Braithwaite grabbed his second of the game with eight minutes remaining before completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot in stoppage time. 

Thornton Cleveleys also had a good month with five just one loss in their seven games, with Maghull, Colne and Woolton also doing well.

First Division South - Bilston Town 

The winner of the Club of the Month in the First Division South are Bilston Town. Newcomers to the league this season, they have had an impressive start and sit in the play-off positions at present with games in hand on those above them.

They played four games in the month and were unbeaten, with three of those being victories in which they kept a clean sheet and the other a thrilling draw. They scored 15 goals and conceded just three. 

The first game came away at Wolverhampton Casuals where they trailed to a Kieran Cook goal after 17 minutes. Callum Bright levelled just after the half hour only for Cook to restore Wolves lead before half time. Cook then made it 3-1 ten minutes into the second half with Harry Dixon pulling one back on 66 minutes. Bilston levelled with seven minutes remaining through Sam Cudjoe Yankson with the game ending 3-3.

Widnes Town were up next at home with Bilston putting in their most dominant performance of the season to record a 7-0 win. Jordan Crump put Bilston ahead on 14 minutes with Harry Dixon adding another ten minutes later. Ben Priest made it three just before the break with the game over as a contest in a blistering spell at the start of the second half. Nathaniel Hewett scored two minutes into the half before Crump got his second to make it five goals just two minutes later. Dixon made it six just 60 seconds later with Callum Bright adding the seventh just before the hour. 

Bilston have lost just once in the league this season, that coming in the first midweek of the season, and they made it six games unbeaten with a 3-0 home win over Market Drayton Town. Harry Dixon put Bilston ahead in the very first minute of the game, but we had to wait until four minutes into the second half for the next goal when Jordan Crump doubled the lead. Darragh Bustin rounded off the scoring with the third midway through the half. 

The fourth and final game of the month saw them travel to Stafford Town in the Macron Cup, and they progressed to the next round with a 2-0 win. Nathan Guest opened the scoring on 36 minutes with Harry Dixon adding the second a minute before the break. 

Bilston just edged out Wolverhampton Casuals who had two wins and two draws in the month. Barnton, Foley Meir and Sandbach all had an unbeaten month also but draws hindered them.
