Isuzu FA Vase Second Round Proper Draw
Mon 12th October 2026 | FA Challenge Vase | By Martin Fallon
The FA have today released the draw details for the Second Round Proper of the 2026/27 FA Vase.
Sixty of our member Clubs have entered this year's competition and 13 will be playing in this round. For the first time in living memory, none of our clubs have been drawn against each other meaning that all 13 have the opportunity to progress through to the next round.
There is just one opponent who will be facing NWCFL sides for the very first time, this being Durham United from the Northern League Division Two. They are bottom of the league and despite winning just one league game so far, they have won three times in the FA Vase, all being away games at Northallerton Town, Easington Colliery and Rossington Main. They face yet another away trip to Woolton, with both of these sides looking reach the Third Round of the Vase for the first time in their history.
Another team looking to make history are Maghull. They have reached the Third Round only once before, that coming back in 1981 when they lost at Irlam Town. They are playing in the Second Round of the Vase for the first time since 1985 and will be at home to NCEL side Retford.
FC St Helens are also in the Second Round for only the second time in their history. The last time was in 2022 when they lost to AFC Liverpool. After a record breaking 9-0 win in the Qualifying Rounds, they will be looking to make more club history as they welcome Boldon Community Association.
Newcomers to the league AFC Bridgnorth have twice reached this stage of the competition, the latest being in 2020, but they too have never progressed beyond it. They face Desborough Town at home in what is a first ever clash between the two sides.
Other ties see last season's Quarter Finalists Droylsden travel the short distance to face former NWCFL side Cheadle Town who now play in the Midland League. A similar story is for Prestwich Heys who travel to West Didsbury & Chorlton, the Brookburn Road side also former Quarter Finalists when they were in our league.
