Jack McGovern of AFC Liverpool has been presented with his Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month award.
League Management Committee Member Jeff Voller caught up with Jack McGovern at a recent AFC Liverpool home game to present him with his award.
This is what was said about him when the announcement was made.
PREMIER DIVISION - JACK McGOVERN (AFC LIVERPOOL)
The winner in the Premier Division is Jack McGovern, the first goalkeeper for AFC Liverpool to win this since Lee Carr in January 2019.
Jack followed on from his excellent September when he kept three clean sheets, to go one better with four clean sheets in October. The first game of the month saw a man of the match performance against Barnoldswick in a 3-0 victory, followed by another clean sheet in the Macron Cup against the Isle of Man.
The finish to the month was just as impressive, as a serious of top-quality saves and commanding of his area, helped to secure 2-0 and 1-0 wins against Padiham and Avro. This secured his 9th clean sheet of the season from 19 appearances. As well as captaining the side in four out of the six games in October, Jack also helped to set a new Club record for the longest period without conceding a goal: only coming to an end thanks to a deflected shot, after not being beaten for over four and a half games.
Jack is the only ever-present player in the squad this season and continues to perform to the highest standard.
Well done Jack!
