Jake Hilton of Pilkington has been presented with his second Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month award of the season. After winning in August, he collected the award again in November.
League Management Committee Member Jeff Voller presented the award to Jake at a recent game.
This is what was said about him when the announcement was made.
FIRST DIVISION NORTH - JAKE HILTON (PILKINGTON)
Also winning this award for the second time this season is Jake Hilton from Pilkington.
November was an action packed month for Pilkington with three League games followed by three cup games. November saw the first league defeat for Pilks at the hands of Euxton Villa at the beginning of the month, but Jake put that behind him with some great saves as he kept clean sheets at Nelson and at home to Cleator Moor Celtic. The Cleator Moor game saw him nominated as Pilks' Man of the Match.
In the cup games, Jake was the hero in Pilkington’s penalty shootout victory against Premier Division side Irlam, making a stunning save from the penultimate penalty before teammate Chris Cottingham put them through.
Jake also put in a fantastic performance in Pilkington’s defeat to Marine and if it was not for his heroics the scoreline could have been significantly worse for Pilkington. Lets hope Jake can continue this form into December and over the festive period.
Well done Jake!
