League Milestones and Statistics: Saturday 5th April 2025.

Overall Stats:

  • Holker Old Boys moved on to 1,200 league games with their win at home to Thornton Cleveleys. There are eleven current teams who have played more league games.
  • AFC Liverpool’s defeat to West Didsbury & Chorlton was their 250th from 637 league games.
  • Eccleshall’s win at Cheadle Heath Nomads was their 750th game.
  • Euxton Villa’s midweek defeat to Route One Rovers was their 100th game in the NWCFL.

Home Stats:

  • Holker Old Boys midweek win against Garstang was their 600th at home.

Away Stats:

  • Skelmersdale’s defeat at Ashton Town saw them concede their 1,050th away goal, in 544 away games.
  • West Didsbury & Chorlton’s fifth goal at AFC Liverpool was their 450th on the road.

Goal Heroes:

Finally, after a two-week drought, we have triples, though none from the South Division - last one was 25th Feb.

  • Billy Matthews with three for West Didsbury & Chorlton in their big win at AFC Liverpool.
  • Tyler James with three of Bury’s four as they beat Padiham.
  • Jack Foster netted all three of Darwen’s goals in the win at Steeton.
  • Max Cane with three for Nelson as his side beat Daisy Hill 5-1.
  • Michael Howard got three of Ashton Town’s five against Skelmersdale United, their first hat-trick since September 2023.
  • Umar Ali Zahoor with three of Route One Rovers four at Ashton Athletic.
  • Zakariya Khan for Route One Rovers, with all three in their midweek win at Euxton Villa.

General Stats:

  • Bacup Borough went down 6-0 at Atherton LR, a score line they last suffered in November 2012, Colne being the winners that day.
  • Stafford Town’s defeat at Wolverhampton SC saw them fail to score for the first time in 21 games.
  • Bury passed the 67,000 total home league attendance figure with their game on Saturday.
  • South Liverpool lost 5-0 for the first time in 165 games, a defeat at Bury on 16th November 2021
  • Garstang won their first 5-0 game since they beat Steeton in February 2022.
  • Padiham’s defeat at Bury was their first 4-0 loss since they went down at Prestwich Heys in October 2022.
  • Chadderton’s 4-1 win against Pilkington was last repeated in February 2023.
  • Bury netted their 150th goal of the season, in all competitions, when Tyler James hit his second in the win against Padiham.

Managers Records:

  • Dave Pace took charge of his 100th NWCFL game for Droylsden on Saturday since they joined us. We don’t have a complete list of all his games in charge of the club, but he took over the reins on 1st June 1996. We know of a previous 1022 league games outside the NWCFL and are still working out his cup games.
