We were delighted to catch up recently with Droylsden at their home game with Ashton Athletic to present them with their certificate after the Bloods were winners of the First Division North PST Sport Club of the Month award for February 2026.
The presentation was carried out by League Director Martin Fallon, who is pictured presenting the framed certificate to Chairman and Manager Dave Pace.
This is the first time that they have won Club of the Month in the NWCFL, although we do not have records from their first spell back in the early 1980's.
They played three league games in the month, winning them all, with an away win in the FA Vase. They did lose once which came at home to a Step 5 team as their Vase journey ended at the Quarter Final stage.
Their first game in February came on the first Saturday with a home game against Nelson. They took the lead on 11 minutes through Nellson Van, and then doubled the lead two minutes into first half stoppage time through a penalty from Caelan Kilheeney. Cody Artwell secured what could prove a vital three points with the third goal of the game on 74 minutes.
Next up was a trip to the Midlands to face Midlands League One side Bilston Town in the Fifth Round of the FA Vase. Nellson Van was the man for the Bloods here in this match, scoring a brace to put his team within two wins of Wembley.after a 2-0 win.,
A home game against West Didsbury & Chorlton was postponed in the Manchester Premier Cup Quarter Finals, before a trip to Steeton brought a 6-1 win in the league, Harry Shipton opened the scoring on six minutes before Cody Artwell doubled the lead midway through the first half. Jacob Holgate pulled one back for Steeton ten minutes into the second half before Atwell restored the two goal lead three minutes later. Atwell completed his hat-trick on 64 minutes then added his fourth of the game with 20 minutes remaining to make it 5-1, Kyle Campbell wrapped up the scoring for Droylsden with the sixth of the game in the 79th minute.
A trip to the seaside was next as they visited AFC Blackpool midweek. They returned to Manchester will all three points after a 2-0 win thanks to a goal in each half. Cody Artwell opened the scoring on half time with Kyle Campbell securing the win with the second on 76 minutes.
The final game of the month came at home to Cockfosters in the Quarter Finals of the FA Vase. They play in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands Football League which is a league higher and were in the play-off positions at the time of the match. Cockfosters took the lead on 13 minutes through Kreendall Gyamfi before Kyle Campbell levelled on 27 minutes. Cory Ugbomah restored the lead on 39 minutes only for Droylsden to level again in first half stoppage time through Cory Ugbomah. The game stayed close until six minutes from time when Adebola Sotoyinbo put Cockfosters ahead again, and in stoppage time with Droylsden throwing everything forward, Conrad Holland scored a fourth for the visitors to put them a win away from a place at Wembley in May.
Those results gave Droylsden 15 points from their 5 games for a 3.00 average. This was enough to see them just edge out Darwen who were their closest challengers with three wins and two draws. Bacup Borough, Daisy Hill, Garstang and Maghull also had a good month.
