League Statistician Kevin Lawton has taken an in-depth looks at this seasons Stats and Milestones around all three NWCFL Divisions and in a series of three articles, Kevin has taken a look at the end of season numbers.
Part One: The Premier Division
The Players
A total of 1,135 players were used across the division, in league and cup games, City of Liverpool used 97, whilst the fewest was the 31 at Charnock Richard.
Two players started every league game: Bradley Rose for Ramsbottom Utd and Ryan Michael Ford for Wythenshawe.
Three additional players appeared in every league game: Jack Price at Padiham (1 as sub), Gabriel Mooney-Munoz for Glossop North End (2 as sub) and Joe Bacon at Atherton LR (3 as sub).
Hat-Tricks (and more): Lewis-Simon Byrne (Chadderton) hit FIVE twice, FOUR once and THREE, three times. He hit an incredible 63 goals in cup and league games which is a Premier Division record.
Ethan Sutcliffe (Glossop NE) and Gareth J Hill (Barnoldswick T) both hit FOUR in a game.
Aaron Dwyer had four triples for Wythenshawe, Elliott Taylor, three for AFC Liverpool and Jordan Darr, three for Charnock Richard.
Penalty King was Elliot Taylor (AFC Liverpool) with 13 successive kicks.
Clean Sheets: Bradley Rose (Ramsbottom Utd) and Joe Bickerstaffe (Atherton LR) kept the opposition out on 17 occasions.
The Teams
Chadderton passed the 1,600 NWCFL: game mark throughout this season.
Atherton LR, Cheadle Town, Daisy Hill and Maine Road all reached the 1,500 landmark.
Wythenshawe had the biggest home in, 11-1 against City of Liverpool
Glossop North End had the biggest away win, 10-0 at City of Liverpool, closely followed by Padiham’s 10-1 win at Pilkington.
Winning Streaks: Wythenshawe had a run of 13 wins on the bounce, whilst Atherton LR and Prestwich Heys both had 11 game runs. Atherton LR had the best unbeaten streak with 21 games.
Clean Sheets: 232 in total, Prestwich Heys topped with 20, Atherton LR had 18.
Chadderton had a run of 26 games when they scored at least once.
Attendances (League games):
Best Average: West Didsbury & Chorlton (593), FC Isle of Man (563), Wythenshawe (390)
Highest: 1,869 West Didsbury & Chorlton v Wythenshawe (26/12/25) which was a new club record.
Lowest: 34 Pilkington v Cheadle Town (04/10/25)
Overall: 120,377 supporters attended games at an average of 218.
Goals
There were 1,996 goals, with 1,020 home and 976 away. 906 (45%) were scored in the first half and 1,090 (55%) in the second. 141 goals were scored AFTER the 89th minute.
There were, on average, 3.62 goals per league game and 232 clean sheets
Fifty-eight games ended in a 2-1 away win. Next most common scoreline was 1-1, thirty-eight games ended this way.
155 penalties were tucked away (sadly no record of how many were missed) and 22 own goals found the back of the net.
Only ten games finished goal-less.
