FA Vase Third Round Proper Draw
Mon 2nd November 2026 | FA Challenge Vase | By Martin Fallon
The FA have today released the draw details for the Third Round Proper of the 2026/27 FA Vase.
Sixty of our member Clubs have entered this year's competition and six will be playing in this round after wins on Saturday. Once again all six have the opportunity to progress through to the next round as they avoided each other in the draw, and strangely all six have been given home ties.
Woolton have reached the Third Round of the Vase for the first time in their history after their win on Saturday. They will face one of the giants of non-league football as Bishop Auckland come to Merseyside. Auckland won the FA Amateur Cup ten times and have won the Northern League a record 18 times. They are currently top of the league and aiming for a 19th title. They are also three time FA Trophy Quarter Finalists, although they have never progressed beyond the Third Round of the FA Vase.
Last season saw Droylsden reach the Quarter Finalists and they host Bottesford Town. The Northern Counties East side have reached the Third Round for the first time in their history, and are third in the table at present. They won at Chadderton in the last round.
Holker Old Boys entertain former FA Vase winners North Shields, who overcame Glossop North End in the 2014/15 season. They have had a decent record recently in the Vase, and in three of the last four seasons have reached at least the Fifth Round.
Another big North East name are Shildon who travel to Nelson. Shildon reached the Semi Final in 2012/13, losing 4-3 on aggregate, although they have not reached this stage since the 2020/21 season. They won 5-0 away at Garstang in the First Qualifying Round.
Yarn & Eaglescliffe are the fourth Northern League side our sides face, but unlike the previous ones they are relatively new to the Non-League System. They have only been in the Northern League for three seasons, winning promotion last season, and this is only their third FA Vase campaign. They have never reached this round before. They will travel to Thornton Cleveleys having beaten Fulwood Amateurs in the First Round.
The final side are Bilston Town who reached the Fifth Round last season. They host Sherwood Colliery who play in the United Counties League Premier Division and are currently in 7th place. The Fourth Round is their previous best, that being last season when they lost at Droylsden, that being the only previous meeting with a NWCFL side.
