The Winners of the Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month Awards for October 2024 have been announced this week by the NWCFL.

PREMIER DIVISION

The North West Counties League Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month Award for October 2024 has gone to Brad Rose from Ramsbottom United.

The 20-year old ex-Salford City stopper joined his home side Ramsbottom on a season long loan from National League North side Radcliffe in the summer having been on loan at Trafford last season.

Brad has performed really well at the back of what is a strong defence at Rammy this season which, when breached, has seen him come into his own, with a number of impressive and point-gaining saves. The club describe him as a keeper with so much potential going forward.

October saw Brad play seven games in which he kept three clean sheets, conceded just six goals and picked up two Man-of-the-Match wins.

The opening game of the month was a 2-2 draw in the Macron Cup, with Rammy winning 5-3 on penalties. He then kept a clean sheet at FC Isle of Man in a game where he was awarded Man-of-the-Match, before conceding just one goal per game in the next three games in which Rammy picked up seven points from nine available.

The first was a 1-1 draw at Barnoldswick Town in which Brad picked up his second successive Man-of-the-Match award, before 2-1 home wins against both Cheadle Town and AFC Liverpool.

His fifth game in the month brought his second clean sheet of the month as Rammy beat Euxton Villa at home in the First Round of the Isuzu FA Vase, and his third clean sheet quickly followed in a 4-0 win over Litherland REMYCA, that also being his tenth clean sheet of the season.

Congratulations to Brad on his Award!

FIRST DIVISION NORTH

The Goalkeeper of the Month award for the First Division North has gone to Droylsden's Jordan Latham.

The Bloods' number one played in all five of his sides games in the month, keeping a clean sheet in three of them and conceding just three goals in the other two games to help his side move into the promotion play-off spots in the First Division North.

Latham moved to Droylsden in the summer from Cheadle Town, where he helped the South Manchester side to promotion and to stay in the Premier Division during his two years there. He started at Chadderton and also spent four years at Avro. He is no stranger to this award, picking it up this month for the sixth time in his career.

The month started with a "giant killing" act in the Macron Cup as Droylsden beat Premier Division side Abbey Hey 4-0, before a 2-0 loss at Maghull that could have been more if not for Jordan who pulled off some fine saves.

Next was a 7-0 win at home to Thornton Cleveleys with another relatively comfortable afternoon following as his side beat AFC Blackpool 4-1 in the Edward Case Cup.

His best performance of the month was saved for the end, with his third clean sheet of the month coming in a 1-0 win at home to Nelson, with Jordan instrumental in securing his side three points by pulling off a number of match-winning saves.

Congratulations to Jordan for his performances in the month!

FIRST DIVISION SOUTH

There is not much doubt about the winner of the October 2024 Goalkeeper of the Month Award for the First Division South with the award going to Adam Jenkins of Stafford Town.

Adam was unlucky not to award in each of the first two months as Stadfford started strongly, but he has kept up his form and helped his team to ten successive league wins which has propelled them to the top of the table,

Personally speaking for Adam, it could not have gone better. Five games for Stafford, five clean sheets, with Adam going 491 minutes without conceding a goal from the last game in September to the first game in November.

The first game in October saw him keep a clean sheet at home to Ashville in the Macron Cup, before another 3-0 successive at Runcorn Town. A third successive 3-0 victory then came in an Edward Case Cup victory at home to Wolvehampton Sporting Community.

The fourth game of the month saw Adam with probably not a lot to do with Stafford defeating Allscott Heath 9-0, but he was called upon a number of times in Stafford's final game of the month as the league leaders won 2-0 at Cammell Laird 1907, Adam picking up his opponents nomination for Man-of-the-Match after helping secure his side all three points with an accomplished display.

Congratulations Adam!
