We were delighted to catch up recently with Atherton LR, winners of the First Division North Club of the Month award for October 2024. This is the second win of the season of this award for LR who also lifted it in July/August 2024.

Atherton played five games during the month, one on each of the four Saturday's in the month with one midweek. Of these they won four and lost just once.
They started October with a 3-0 win at Route One Rovers, followed up by a 4-1 win over Steeton in the Edward Case Cup. They then lost at Ashton Town in the Macron Cup, before a fantastic 2-1 win over Premier Division Colne in the Isuzu FA Vase. That win against a higher division side certainly helped them this month, and that was folowed up with a 4-2 away win at Maghull in the final game of the month.
